Someone should buy Pat a cow.

It's been a little while since my last update on Pats milk swilling.
As of today Patrick Davis Meehan has downed a ridiculous 26 Gallons of milk. Thats 98.43 litres of Milk, so close to cracking 100.

California Dreamin'

Over the last week Benny, Jase, Patto and I drove out to California, spent 4 days in Truckee, competed in the Revolution Tour and drove back. We got home last night, so I thought I should blog about our exploits.

Last Tuesday (The 2nd), we left our humble aboad in Breckenridge and hit the road. Our vehicle of choice was the Red Rocket. It took us a solid two days of driving to get to Truckee so we over nighted in Ely, Nevada (seriously the middle of nowhere... Google Earth it).

On our second day of driving, among the vast amounts of dessert and nothingness we were trecking thru we could see a tree up ahead that looked like the Womping Willow from the Harry Potter movie. When we drove past we noticed that it wasn't the Womping Willow but 'The Shoe Tree'. We convinced Benny to turn around so we could check it out. The Shoe Tree is a pretty big tree in the middle of nowhere literally covered in peoples shoes that they had thrown up there. Between the shoes that had missed that were on the ground, and the shoes in the tree, there must have been thousands of shoes. We all scurried down the bank and acquired some dirty old shoes that had fallen to the ground so we could take our own turn of hurling some shoes into the tree.

This video is made up of photo's I took of our first two days travel:

The next two days we shredded at Boreal Snow Resort, training for the Rev Tour. The pipe was a really nice shape, little bit filled in from the snow they had got in the days before. We didnt do much else for these days. We played alot of pool at the house we rented which was right at the Tahoe Donner Ski Resort. Actually we did see this awesome Shnook helicopter that was searching for a snowshoer that got lost in back country on Tuesday.

The Revolution Tour was on Saturday. Pat and I were in the first heat and Jase was in the second. Pat and I both landed our runs. Pat scored a 21.7 on his best run which put him in 17th overall. I scored a 29.2 on my first run and a 29.1 on my second, this put me 4th in my heat and qualified me 5th for finals. Jase got 21.6 which put him right behind Pat in 18th.

This is my qualification run:

In finals I was a bit tired. I still put my run down, but not as clean as I did in Qualifications. I ended up in 8th place, which I am really happy about since my main goal was to make finals and finish top 10.

On the way home we had a pretty stock standard drive on the first day. We slept in a sketchy Super 8 motel in Salina, Utah. On the second day when we reached Grand Junction the Digital Hwy Signs and people in shops were saying the I-70 was closed. So after we got a little problem on the van fixed we hit up Hooters for lunch. Needless to say we were all very excited about our first Hooters experience.

After lunch we continued driving, sort of ignoring the notifications of the road closure, hoping it would open by the time we reached Glenwood Canyon. This didnt happen. When we reached Glenwood Springs (About 1.5 hours from Breck) sure enough the road was closed and there were whispers of it being closed until the morning, or even days. Based on this information Benny manned up, told me to study the map really well because we were going to drive around. This detour made our trip and extra 4 hours long, and took us within 40 miles of Wyoming. Crazy.

All in all it was a really fun trip, and one I'm sure I wont forget.
Until nextime. JW
