KaPOW!

As promised, a post about snowboarding.

This Morning Jack, Triggs and I had plans to go to A-Basin, which is usually pretty amazing [or so I've heard] on a powder day. However the early morning snow report check showed that Breck recieved twice as much snow as A-Basin - a ridiculous 26 inches [Thats 66 centre metres!!!]. So needless to say we hit up Breck.

After a few of the most amazing runs of my trip [so far] we met this dude called Mike on the chairlift. Mike told us he would show us where all the good spots were as none of us had really ridden Breck on a powder day. We followed Mike for a few runs, but we were'nt really all that impressed, but then he redeemed himself by showing us a spot called The Windows. It was about a 20 minute hike up a boot pack, which lead to this flat plain which dropped into a bowl followed by a tree run. There were a few more people than we were banking on, but it was well worth it! After that we were all pretty spent so we called it a day... and here we are.

I kind of just threw this edit together quickly before dinner. So don't judge me too harshly. Check out more from today on Hannah's blog @ hannahtrigger.blogspot.com

The Weather Outside is... Weathery.

After a weekend off I awoke to my alarm this morning and looked out the window to see... nothing. It's windy, it's cold and it's snowy - which kind of sucks as I really wanted to ride today. I guess it's not such a bad thing as this is one of the busiest weekends on the slopes of the year - The Martin Luther King Jr. long weekend [You will know Dr. King as the equal rights activist famous for the 'I Have a Dream' speech]. Anyways, considering I have been inside for a couple of days already, today the internet has been my best freind. So I thought I might share with you what I have been browsing.

I stumbled upon this artwork at LifeLounge. It's done by an artist called Kelsey Brookes who happens to be a Colorado Native. Check out more @ kelseybrookes.com

Keeping on the whole 'easy on the eyes' theme, my mate Thommo [Nicholas Thompson] from The Drop design studio finally finished his new website which displays some of his best works. Kids got Talent! Check out more @ nicholasthompson.com.au

Just one more, I Promise. I have been listening to Kid Cudi's new album alot over the last few months so I started doing some YouTubing and found some cool live videos and what not, but I just thought I would post the film clip for Erase Me - there is lots of hair, lot's of glitter and bright lights.

Ok, thats it for now, thanks for helping me alleviate some boredom! My next post will definately invole Snowboarding!

Peace.

Happenings.

Quick run down of what I have been up to.

I Celebrated my 21st birthday, extensively, over a number of days with the help of some awesome friends. Now that I have taken full advantage of being 21 in USA I have started training at Breckenridge again. They have a 22 foot halfpipe this year which is cut to perfection every single day!

A few days ago I also had the privilege of training on the airbag at Vail alongside some talented riders from ISTC [International Snowboard Training Centre]. The set up was some what of a spine with a frontside and backside halfpipe hit aswell as a jump through the middle. The bag was a little intimidating to hit at first but once I got
comfortable it was amazing - I will post some video and photos next time.

Other than that I have relocted from Vail to Frisco [closer to Breckenridge] to make life a little easier. Also today I judged the Vail Cup, a competition for little kids - I very well could have been watching future world champs.

Thats about it for now - I intend to give my GoPro a workout in the near future so keep an eye out for some videos.

It Begins...

I would like to start out by wishing you all a very happy New Year. I hope you each have an amazing Two Thousand and Eleven!

Now that's out of the way, time to get down to business. I am currently living in Vail, Colorado, where I plan to spend the next three months snowboarding. However whilst en route to Colorado I made a pit stop to Bakersfield, California, to spend christmas with my Aunty, Uncle and two cousins [Lindy, Trevor, Mason and Hayley].

It was nice to spend Christms with family for once. With the exception of 2010 I have been away from home for Christmas since I was 15. On Boxing day we went snowboarding at a little hill called Alta Sierra. It is about an hour and a half from Bakersfield and only had two chairlifts, but it was lots of fun to snowboard with my cousins for the first time ever.

Another first for me was going Disney Land, where we visited the day before I flew out to Colorado. My aunty took me and my cousins as an early 21st gift for me [My actual 21st happens to be today]. I absolutely loved Disney land, that place is absolutely amazing. We went on as many rides as we could, but it was one of the busiest days of the year there [They stopped admitting people at 10 A.M. because they had reached capacity.] so the queues were horrendous. I definately want to go back one day, hopefully when it's quieter.

Thats about it for now, I am about to start training and riding a whole bunch so I will keep you posted.

Peace.
